Police state that the alleged shooter, Travis Reinking, 29, parked his truck at the Antioch Waffle House restaurant early Sunday morning and began shooting at customers and employees with an AR-15.
Two people were killed in the parking lot of the restaurant and two more were killed inside. Three additional people were injured before a good samaritan, James Shaw Jr., wrestled the weapon from Reinking's hands.
Reinking, who was nude except for a green jacket, fled the scene of the shooting on foot and ditched the jacket, according to authorities. In the time since law enforcement has been conducting a massive manhunt in an attempt to locate him.

In multiple news reports from Nashville's Fox 17 News, the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department says that there have been no confirmed sightings of Travis Reinking and he was last seen behind his apartment complex.
The Associated Press reports that Reinking was wanted for stealing a BMW from a dealership just days before the shooting took place and they were able to recover the car near his apartment, but no other clues have been found.

Previous police reports and encounters have detailed a long history of possible mental illness with Reinking. In May 2016, he accused Taylor Swift of stalking him and hacking his cell phone, later agreeing to the sheriff's request for him to undergo a medical evaluation.
More recently, Reinking was arrested by the Secret Service for trespassing in a restricted area near the White House and refusing to leave. He was not armed, but the FBI requested state police revoke his weapon's license and seize his guns. Under Illinois law, seized guns are able to be handed over to a family member which Tennessee police believe is how he secured an AR-15.
